Complete Overhaul

St. Matthew Church

East Syracuse, NY

Total renovation of the organ at St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse, NY was spread over the course of several months in 2009. Work included pipe cleaning, replacement of all tuning sleeves, renovation of the keyboards, modifications to the swell shutters and key action revisions. We also added one new rank, a much needed Principal 16′ for the pedal division – an open wood rank which we placed on its own new windchest behind the existing organ case. We were able to connect this windchest mechanically to the existing tracker action. Finally, the last stage of the overhaul was the removal of the old stop action and installation of a brand new, German-made electronic stop action with 3,999 levels of memory, new draw-knobs, new slider solenoids, etc… This really brought this instrument to a top class condition for many years to come.
